Presentations and event activities can take place online, with the competition organized around a video meeting platform such as Zoom.
The challenge
Turn a student idea into an investable business pitch.
Teams create fictional businesses, explain the problem they want to solve, develop a plan, and pitch their idea to investors. The experience is designed for Middle School and High School divisions, with three students on each team.

One school can support multiple teams.
Each school connects to an advisor and one or more teams. Each team has three students, an age division, a business goal, an initial idea, and agreement to the competition rules.

Virtual investment
Every investor has a $1 million limit.
Investors may spread their virtual capital across multiple teams, invest it all in one team, or choose not to invest. Each submission records a team, amount, and optional reason.
The wallet rule
An investor’s combined investments must not exceed $1,000,000. For example, $700,000 plus $500,000 is rejected because the total is $1,200,000.
How the leaderboard works
The main champion is chosen by investor count.
InvestED tracks both the number of individual investors and the amount raised. The InvestED Champion is the team backed by the most distinct investors; total capital is a separate measure and award.
